Q&A: In the Closet with TiGi
Name: My name is Tigi
Age: 24
Where are you from? from VA, moved to ATL when I was in 6th grade. After high school I was stationed in Idaho.
Stationed? Oh yes! Im in the Air Force!
How many tats do you have? Mmm. I think 12.
Which one is your favorite? It would have to be my Truly Fitted tat. It’s the name of my business and it pretty much explains my personality.
Do any of them have a deep or significant meaning? ALL of them do! That’s why I take great pride in my tattoos. Most people get tattoos with no meaning, most of mine are family oriented so I take great pride in my ink.
When did you get your first tattoo? What age? I was 17yrs old, and it was my mom’s initials on my inner wrist.
Have has having tattoos affected you in society? They haven’t at all!! If anything, they’re more of a magnet. A lot of people come up to me asking about them and smiling at my artwork. I think my tattoos define who I am. Tattoos are artwork and self expression, it’s all in how you carry yourself.
Do you have a favorite tattoo artist? My tat guy is named Brandon Smith, lives in Cali
‘So I’m aware you have your own business project, a multi-media entertainment company. Tell me a little about it Tigi’
Well it’s called Truly Fitted. It was founded in July 2009. Truly Fitted means attitude, being you regardless, and being yourself at all times, finding a fit for you. I also have another partner involved named Sablan who’s also a friend of mine. Our motto is, ‘We Influence’. We influence, is a strong statement, it spells positivity. Our mission is ‘To bring the next best thing through hip-hop’, but I must say our main focus right now is fashion and design. I think tackling one aspect at a time it makes more sense. I’d rather gather full knowledge of a subject or situation before I take it on full speed.
‘Wow!! Honestly Truly Fitted seems like a promising direction of travel for you. I’m most intrigued by your determination and desire for success. I honestly don’t see a lot of young people with your mindset and drive. I’m excited about your project and I wish you the best in your endeavors. Do you have any booking info you’d like to share?
